Daniel Class | Lecture 1: Introduction & Critical Issues

We have begun a study of the book of Daniel. Lecture 1 is now available in audio for those who missed class or want to review.

Daniel is not first a puzzle book. It is a book about the living God who rules history when His people live as exiles. Written for Jews under pagan power, it still speaks to Christians who must remain faithful in a culture that does not confess Christ as King.

In this opening lecture we set the table before we move verse by verse. We look at:

The aim of the lecture is simple: before we open Daniel 1, we want to know what kind of book this is, why it was given, and why we can receive it as the Word of God.

The Lord is sovereign, even over calamity and desolation. That is where the book begins, and that is where we begin as well.
