CALL TO WORSHIP – Romans 11:33-36

33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord,

or who has been his counselor?”

35 “Or who has given a gift to him

that he might be repaid?”

36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

PRAYER OF ADORATION

O God, you are our God, and early we seek you. You are the God of our fathers and we will exalt you.

The gods of the nations cannot compare with you, and no one among men can be likened to you. You are slow to anger and rich in love, punishing the guilty, yet showing mercy to sinners.

The earth is yours and everything in it. In your hand are the deep places of the earth, and the strength of the mountains belongs to you.

All of the nations are like a drop in a bucket to you, and the kings of the earth are like grains of sand. Your dominion is everlasting. Your throne is from generation to generation.

The angelic hosts surround your throne. Ten thousand times ten thousand stand before you and obey your voice. And we have come, through your mercy, into a spiritual communion with that innumerable company of angels, and the spirits of the righteous made perfect.

Some today trust in princes and governors, kings, and senators. But we, with the Psalmist, declare, “Whom have I in heaven but you, and there is no one on earth that we desire but you. When our flesh and our heart fail you are the strength of our heart and our portion forever.

So, Holy Father, be magnified today in the hearts of your people. Jesus Christ receive our praise for you died for us. Indwelling Spirit, enable us to hear and receive the Word that is proclaimed.

All glory to you, Blessed Trinity, One God. Forever and ever, and Amen.
