Prayers for the Church
Father,
Give us to have certainty concerning the things we have been taught; (Luke 1:4) and let our knowledge grow up to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ. (Col. 2:2) And make us doers of the word and not hearers only. (James 1:22)
Prayers for Members
Lord God we remember ___ and ___ ___, asking that you comfort them today. As you bring ___ earthly life to a close in the weeks ahead, give her a sure hope of the resurrection life you have prepared for her. Strengthen ___ as he serves and cares for his wife, and may your church be used to minister deeply to them.
We pray for ___ and ___ ___; for their children ___ and ___. Supply all their needs according to your riches in Christ Jesus. May their children grow in the nurture and admonition of Christ. Use them to serve the saints of their church, and even to evangelize their friends and family who are far from Christ.
Prayers for the Lost
Lord God, let your way be known on the earth (Psalm 67:2), and let your saving power be known among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God, let the nations be glad and sing for joy. (Psalm 67:2-4)
Father, magnify your name, through Christ, in Angola. After decades of war and extreme poverty, may the people of that nation know Christ as both savior and Lord. Build your church through your word and through the service of your saints.
We lift up the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, and praise you that your church flourishes there. May Christians on those islands not grow weary of well doing, but continue to preach Christ until everyone believes.
Prayers for those in Authority
Father, we thank you for our own nation and ask that you would deliver America to yourself. Let all wickedness shut its mouth (Psalm 107:42 and let those who struggle against their sin not grow weary or fainthearted (Heb. 12:3-4)
Set us high above all nations in praise and fame and in honor by making us a people holy to the Lord. (Deut. 26:19)
To that end, direct our leaders and our rulers that they may honor Christ as Lord.
Prayers for Churches & Missionaries
Strengthen the saints at Stony Fork Baptist Church as they reach southern Rock Hill. Empower their pastor, Mark Watts to preach Christ boldly and effectively.
We ask the same for Old Town Church and Matthew Cavin. Father, we thank you for so many faithful churches ministering in our own city.
Give us more! Increase the laborers for your harvest fields. Raise up more men as pastors and men and women as missionaries.
Offering
Use even our offerings this morning to further this gospel mission from Charlotte to the ends of the earth.
